Ecartridgerenewal. WARANTY INFORMATION AND RETURN POLICIES
Warranty Period - Cartridges purchased from Ecartridgrenewal, are covered by a one-year warranty from
date of purchased if nothing from the Testing and Warranty Policy has been breached. (Please Read
The Testing Policy)
More than 75% Used - Cartridges which are 75% or more used based on cartridge weight upon receipt
are not eligible for return.
Condition of Cartridges for Return - To be accepted for return, cartridges must bear an
Ecartridgerenewal affixed recycled label and may not be modified in any way after being shipped by
Ecartridgerenewal. The warranty is voided and cartridges may not be returned if: 1)you add a label/s to
the cartridge, 2) remove, cover and/or replace the Ecartridgerenewal label, or 3) unpackage, test or
otherwise change the cartridge in any way from the time it was shipped.
RMA Required - Ecartridgerenewal. uses a standard RMA form which may be downloaded or printed
from the Ecartridgerenewal website. Once completed, the RMA form must be emailed to
This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for approval. Once received, an Ecartridgerenewal RMA Specialist will
review your request for returns and assign an RMA Number which must appear on your RMA form. An
approved RMA with assigned RMA number must accompany each return order. Returns which are
not accompanied by an approved RMA form will not be processed. Our minimum number of cartridges
for return is ten ink jets or two lasers unless a single laser is being returned with nine ink jets or more.
Packaging cartridges for return - All too often, we find that returned cartridges are simply dumped in a
box with no protection. This allows us no opportunity to evaluate what the cartridge was doing when it
was received by your customer.
When we ship “printhead style cartridges,” we carefully tape the printhead, place the cartridge in a
cartridge clip and seal it in a vapor-barrier bag to protect it from exposure to air before use. When
possible, we ask that you replace the clips on the cartridges being returned. In addition, to avoid damage
to printheads and likely “color mixing” on multi-color cartridges, please place cartridges either in the
opened static bag in which it was sent or an individual plastic bag. We reserve the right to refuse a
“return” when it has been carelessly packaged causing damage to the cartridges.
When returning laser and ink jet cartridges in the same box, be sure the lasers are in a sealed
container and the ink jets are in a separate sealed bag or box. Toner dust can be corrosive and may
damage ink jet contacts and printheads.
RMA Shipping/Mailing Labels - (For Off-the-Shelf and Laser Customers)
Ecartridgerenewal will pay the cost to return “off-the-shelf” ink jet cartridges and laser cartridges based on
the most cost effective method for your returns. However, we will limit RMA Return Shipping/Mailing
labels to one per month per customer.
RMA Shipping/Mailing - (For Renew and Rapid Renew Customers)
We offer our lowest prices to our Renew and Rapid Renew customers. For that reason, any cartridges to
be returned from these programs should be sent along with empties in your next Renew or Rapid Renew
order. Cartridges should be handled in accordance with the guidelines described in “Packaging
Cartridges for Return,” placed in a separate large bag or box and the bag or box clearly labeled as
“defectives for return.” Please do not label individual returned cartridges as labels are often difficult to
remove and may damage the contacts or printheads when affixed. Renew and Rapid Renew returns
must be accompanied by an approved RMA form.
Ecartridgerenewal Testing of Returned Cartridges - We inspect, weigh and print test every defective
cartridge we receive unless the cartridge is not eligible for return for other reasons. You will be notified as
soon as your return order is completed as to the disposition of your returns. Please allow up to 30 days
from the date of shipment for processing of all RMA Return orders.
A Special Note About Tri-Color Cartridges -Many tri-color style ink jet cartridges are incorrectly
returned as “defective” when one color runs out of ink. OEM tri-color cartridges are designed with the
same amount of ink per color, even though with most color printing, one color is used much faster than
the others. This clever OEM design requires customers to buy a new cartridge even though there may be
considerable ink left in the old cartridge - just not of all three colors. As soon as the first color is fully used,
the cartridge will no longer print correct color. For recycling customers, when they observe their cartridge
is no longer printing correct colors, it isn’t a sign of defect. It is simply a sign that it is time to recycle the
cartridge again to replenish ink in the empty chamber. Educating your customers in advance when they
purchase the tri-color styles can do much to reduce the return of tri-color cartridges when they aren’t
“defective” but just ready for another recycle!
Restocking Fees - Once a recycled cartridge is purchased, it is yours to sell. Your inability to sell a
cartridge, your customer’s decisions to change printers or simply change their mind about using recycled
products are not considered valid reasons for return. However, we will allow you to return unused
products up to 60 days from date of purchase subject to our standard 25% re-stocking fee. Any unused
product received as a return after the 60 days will either be returned to you at your expense or may be
returned to Ecartridgerenewal stock and assessed a 25% re-stocking fee at Ecartridgerenewal’s
discretion.
Return of RMA Cartridges - RMA cartridges which satisfactorily pass our 3rd parties companies print
tests will automatically be returned to you in “resaleable” condition with print tests attached. Shipping
charges will apply to these returned RMA cartridges. Cartridges which are found to be ineligible for return
for any other reason, such as out of warranty, no Ecartridgerenewal label, more than 75% used, etc., will
not be returned unless specifically requested by the dealer on the original RMA form. Shipping charges
will also apply to these returned RMA cartridges.
A Word About Re-Testing our Recycled Cartridges - We consistently find that cartridges sold as
shipped by Ecartridgerenewal have return rates in the 2% range. Conversely, we find that cartridges
which are re-tested, repackaged, or handled prior to use by the end user have return rates which are
anywhere from two to five times higher than our normal return rates. We 100% print test every recycled
cartridge in an OEM printer. We have found there is no other testing which can more accurately predict
the performance of a recycled cartridge. Re-testing only exposes your products to damage which would
otherwise be avoided if the cartridges simply remain packaged as shipped until they are sold.
Limits of Warranty – Ecartridgerenewal fully warrants the cartridges it recycles for work performed by
Ecartridgerenewal employees using Ecartridgerenewal approved recycling procedures and packaged in a
manner which we have found affords maximum protection for the cartridges. Our cartridges, like any
OEM cartridges, are intended to remain in the condition in which they were shipped until placed in a
printer by an end user.
Our warranty does not extend to any work of any kind performed by anyone other than an
Ecartridgerenewal employee since we clearly have no control over that work. That means simply that
when you receive an Ecartridgerenewal recycled cartridge, our warranty continues as long as the
cartridge remains in the condition it was shipped to you and continuing until it is opened and used by the
eventual end user of the product.
As a dealer, once you remove the cartridge from its packaging, you have now assumed the risk
associated with that cartridge in the same way that you would if you recycled it yourself. Any defect
associated with that cartridge has now become your responsibility. Simply put - we warrant the work we
can control but can not warrant any work which is not in our control!
